Kota Kinabalu, Borneo October11
This is the highlight (at least for me) of our visit to Borneo: a walk through the rain forest and watching orangutans.
Although we were far from the jungles of Borneo, we were near a rain forest. The jungles of Borneo houses Orangutans which are 96.4% human. In act "orangutan" means "Man of the forest" in Malay. Orangutans behave remarkably like humans although they can be eight times as powerful as humans and can tear up a human being if they choose to. The continual destruction of forests can can spell an end to this species in the not-too-distant future.
The rain forest has a sanctuary for orphaned orangutans. We saw two orangutans put up quite a show. The are agile and jump from tree top to tree top.
